Our profession is not short of information. What it is short of is a way to organise any of it once a real person is sitting in your chair.
I kept meeting the same practitioner. Well trained, knowledgeable, and quietly losing confidence - because nothing she had been taught told her what to do when the client in front of her did not match the handout. That is not a knowledge problem. It is a reasoning problem.
Teaching is not a second act for me. Before skin I spent close to two decades in compliance, audit and training in Zurich’s financial services industry, with a law degree behind it. Explaining your reasoning was not a nice extra there. It was the job. I am also still in the treatment room, running JANORÀ Skin Studio in Zurich and working exclusively with Korean professional skincare.

I have it. I did not always.
It appeared during a period of severe burnout, alongside full-body psoriasis, hair loss, and the loss of my eyebrows and eyelashes. My body had stopped coping and my skin was where it showed worst. None of it was cosmetic. No trigger list explained any of it.
Skin is rarely the whole story. Very often it is the visible end of one. That is why the framework I teach has a whole-person stage built into it.
I also know what this looks like from the other chair. Being handed a list of things to avoid. Being treated as a redness problem rather than a person whose system had shut down. Much of what I teach is the consultation I needed and did not get.
